the “Hogtowner”

The name is an homage to the city of Toronto. In its early days as a growing metropolis, Toronto earned the nickname Hogtown because it was home to the William Davies Company, the second largest pork processor on the continent. As such, the Hogtowner finds its home in the porkpie family of hats, albeit once or twice removed. This is unapologetic urban chic, a hat that flaunts its form more than function. The low, flat, telescoping crown and narrow curled brim combine for a very compact silhouette that sits trimly on the head. All in all, a great city hat that can be dressed up or down and has proven equally appealing to both men and women. For the latter, the men’s French hatband can be substituted with a ribbon of lustrous, pure silk Petersham grosgrain.
